Karachi: An emergency occurred in the flight of Qaumi Airline (PIA) to Dubai due to which the plane suddenly descended 26 thousand feet.
According to the PIA spokesperson, the flight encountered an emergency near Muscat. Flight PK 213 had departed from Karachi to Dubai at 2:05 PM.
The spokesman said that an hour later when the plane reached Muscat, the hydraulic system malfunctioned and the plane descended 26,000 feet in 6 minutes, upon which the pilot declared an emergency.
The spokesperson says that the pilot asked for help from ATC Muscat and radar after coming to 10,000 feet.
According to the spokesman, an emergency situation arose due to a malfunction in the hydraulic system, but the pilot managed to remove the malfunction of the hydraulic system with his skills during the flight and the pilot managed to reach Dubai by flying very low for an hour.
The spokesman said that after the inspection at the Dubai airport, the aircraft was dispatched to the next flight, the Airbus A320 aircraft from Dubai to Islamabad and then to Skardu.
The spokesperson said that due to administrative situation, PIA is facing shortage of aircraft parts.
