The National Assembly, which continued till late night on Sunday for the approval of the constitutional amendments, and the Senate meeting, which did not take place despite changing the time 3 times yesterday, were postponed indefinitely.
Meetings of the National Assembly and the Senate were called yesterday to approve other amendments, including the increase in the tenure of judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts and the establishment of a new constitutional court. Cannot be presented to the National Assembly for approval.
On the other hand, the time of the Senate session was also changed three times yesterday, but when the National Assembly session ended, the Senate officials came and told that the session has been postponed till tomorrow.
In this regard, the Constitutional Committee also held 4 meetings yesterday in which all the proposals were reviewed in detail, but due to not reaching any consensus, the Speaker adjourned the meeting till today Monday.
Even today, the meeting of the Senate and then the National Assembly was postponed for an indefinite period due to the lack of agreement of all the parties on the constitutional amendments.
In this regard, PML-N Senator Irfan Siddiqui said that the non-approval of the constitutional amendments by the parliament is the failure of the government, Maulana Fazlur Rehman has won on the issue of constitutional amendments, by postponing the issue of constitutional amendments for an indefinite period.
