World Elderly Day is being celebrated all over the world, including Pakistan, on December 14, 1990, the United Nations announced to celebrate October 1 every year as the “International Day of Older Persons”.
As someone once said:
It has come down to us from the statements of the elders
What happened, why does that time not come?
So know that just as the time told by the elders will never come, similarly the departed elders will never come back, so only the one who will understand the words of the elders in time, will appreciate the elders, will reach the goal. May they be before us in the form of mother, father or in any other form.
The purpose of celebrating this day is to raise awareness about senior citizens, especially parents, surely they expect the best from us.
The Lord of the Universe has also said that you should not worship anyone except Him and be kind to your parents. If one or both of them reach old age before you, do not say anything to them and do not rebuke them. And talking to them politely.
The rest is up to one’s own understanding. Those who understood it were considered to be incompetent and those who could not understand were called incompetent.
Every citizen of Pakistan salutes those senior citizens who have dedicated their lives for the betterment of Pakistan on International Senior Citizens Day.
